Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was a kid, she went to her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was six years old when she realized she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford where she was taught acting as well as singing. At the age of 10, she was performing and taking as the main character in several Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were chosen to play the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's film debut coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It was also one of the top-rated films in 2001. The opening days and weekends of the sales were record breaking. It was highly acclaimed by critics, as were the performance of three new starlets. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma received five awards to honor her role in the movie.
